Orphaned Animal Care
The smaller victims of the poaching crisis or the wildlife pet trade are the babies or infant offspring. This includes the calves of rhino and elephant mothers that have been poached for their horns and tusks or the offspring of animals like monkeys that are caged and raised as pets after their mothers have been killed for bushmeat. Baby animals that have been confiscated before they could be sold on the illegal pet trade market. Without the proper care and diet (in most cases milk), the orphaned animals will not survive in the wild unless they are rescued and kept safe until the age they can be released back into the wild. In many cases, the care becomes lifelong if the animal cannot be successfully released back into the wild. Providing support for the care of these victims is such a welcomed gift for many organizations
